Leadership.

We are nice. That's important to us. If it's important to you, we'll get along just fine. If it's not, well, we're still going to be nice to you because that's just who we are. We believe you don't have to be arrogant or egotistical to create great work.

We drink an unhealthy amount of Mountain Dew.

We are a passionate bunch. Our production artists double as musicians. Our art directors dabble in photography. Our writers paint. Our CEO will destroy you in World of WarCraft, just ask him.

All this passion inspires the work we do for our clients. If StormWind seems like a team you'd like to partner with, we'd sure like to meet you. In the mean time, we encourage you to take a moment to get to know a few of us a little better.

Tom Graunke
It helps to know that Tom is a serial entrepreneur, a problem solver, a big picture guy with a passion for delivering above and beyond what others promise. Tom likes to challenge his team to be the catalyst in making the impossible possible with and this results in making customers very hands-down happy, almost downright giddy and one could say (just ask any of them... or better yet, watch our client success stories on stormwind.com)

He ignites StormWind Studios with his drive for bottom-line client successes. Having been a founder, CEO of Mastering Computers, a groundbreaking computer learning enterprise (Nasdaq: MAST and acquired by Computer Associates), and then co-founder & CEO of KnowledgeNet, a pioneer in e-learning and online training (acquired by Thompson Reuters NYSE: TRI), Tom certainly knows how to leverage training, marketing, and sales departments to move the revenue needle. With the success of StormWind, he has continued to help large and mid-sized companies achieve rapid growth and profitability through the powerful learning cocktail of "Hollywood meets Business."

He never promises what he can't deliver, so don't be too surprised if he promises the moon.

Tom is a big lover of golf, skiing and all things competitive. Challenge him to a game of one-on-one basketball and see what kind of game he brings (watch his range from 20'). He'll leave it all on the court, you'll know that much. Ask him one thing he would be doing if he didn't helm yet another successful start-up and he'll tell you it's working with his church youth group side-by-side with his family.

Our famous charitable "give-back" program was started by Tom as a pillar of StormWind's business charter. Learn more about it here as well as some other causes that inspire us. If you have an idea, charity, or mission that is special to you, and you'd like us to consider giving it the "StormWind treatment", simply drop Tom a line and the StormWind team will consider it.
Dave Lewis
Dave is the kind of sales business and development guy everyone wants to know... a consummate professional, a relationship guy, and a lover of technology as a true problem-solver. His team will work tirelessly to make sure the vision of your project is picture perfect, an incredible value and works great - every time. He'll even buy you a beer or two afterwards. It's often understood that he and his team will go "over the wall" and immerse themselves in a client's environment to draw the proper roadmap and deliver way beyond expectations.

Dave leads StormWind's Sales, Business Development, and Channel Partnership efforts in the Central Region of the US. He leads a team of all-stars from the technical, training, marketing, advertising agency, and instructional design industries who are laden with talent across a spectrum of specialties.

He cut his teeth in the technology arena with senior positions at industry visionary heavyweights like Apple, HP, and SkillSoft. He's always up for a challenge (just ask his team) and driven to learn about the sales and training speed-bumps clients face getting their messages out to their team or partners. He's focused on finding bottom-line moving and wildly creative tools to kick start businesses. The new Web is really exciting to him with the ever expanding marketing, training, and communications capabilities it continues to offer - especially when it is infused with the "StormWind touch".

Coming from his well pedigreed background, Dave understandably shares his dream where the most exciting thing would be leveraging mobile communications and the use of broadband everywhere. To sum up, Dave is all about working hard (we mean "farmer sun-up to sun-down hard" - what do you expect from a Midwesterner?). He'll chat you up about boats, travel, and the great outdoors and in the very next breath he'll talk just as authoritatively about routers & hubs, broadband, and the latest version of flash - call him a 21st century renaissance man.
John Mckeever
The list of the wildly successful and "braggable" projects John's team has completed and launched include leading brands like EMC, Cisco, Centex Homes, United States Coast Guard, Rexam, State Farm, McKesson, Dell, Amgen, Cummins, La Quinta, Molson Coors, Charles Schwab, Sun Microsystems, Intel, University of Toyota, DuPont, Hilton, Agilent Technologies, Wells Fargo, United Airlines, Kyocera, Lexus, and Federal Express - to name just a few (John can be a real name dropper when he talks about the pride he has in his clients).

A client relationship guru and consummate problem-solver, John prides himself in not beating his laptop to death with a baseball bat on challenging days. With a BS in Psychology and Project Management Certification (PMP), John brings to StormWind, not only his polished people skills, but past experience in project management in industry leaders IEC and KnowledgeNet. John was also Manager of Strategic Services at Thomson and Client Leadership Liaison at LiveOps before joining the team at StormWind in March of 2009.

What John and his team do best is to manically drive to achieve the customer needs, dreams, and goals clients demand. That means no boring, traditional page-turning eLearning comes out of John's shop. Utilizing the latest creative technology with his talented technical and production teams help bring new life to projects on time and under budget, not to mention a "you've got to be kidding me" level of customer satisfaction.

John lives in Fountain Hills, Arizona with his family, a place he considers "the country," and likes it that way. John still valiantly tries every weekend to capture the glory of his past life as a top college baseball prospect and, with his daughter's help, has achieved Top Seller status during Girl Scout cookie sales drives.
Mike Shanks
Mike Shanks is often described as "a radically creative entrepreneur." That's not to say he's a crazy, strange, "off-the-grid" kind of creative. In his dynamic and engaging work, Mike crafts and communicates messages designed for all people and companies. His work will make you think. If you're a bit on the sensitive side, it might make you cry. He'll definitely make you laugh, and his work will leave you personally motivated and perhaps, profoundly moved.

Mike heads up the creative direction and execution for all of StormWind's clients. In other words, nothing leaves our shop unless it has been touched and blessed from Mike's wildly creative team.

Mike's has been named "the number one guy you need to know in Arizona," and he has been honored with many international marketing/design industry awards like the Addy and New York Art Directors Club. He has developed brands, designed products and directed marketing campaigns for our notable clients such as Apple, Budweiser, Panasonic, Jamba Juice, No Fear, PF Changs, Maytag among others, and he has teamed with individuals such as "Rudy" Ruettiger, Garth Brooks and NFL Hall-of-Famer Ronnie Lott on a full spectrum of projects. Among other things, he met Pope John Paul II, competed in a 111-mile bike race and partied in Donald Trump's New York Penthouse. He has run marathons, hiked the Grand Canyon numerous times and is a published photographer. Mike resides in Paradise Valley with his five young children and wife of 12 years - to whom he has talked each and every day for 5045 consecutive days (and counting), even when he's far away presenting innovative concepts to clients on the other side of the globe, or at the top of some remote mountain peak. Mike sees himself simply as "a man of life, of faith, of God."
Corey Frank
Corey Frank is - at heart - an idea guy, as well as a sales guy, who can take a good punch...repeatedly. He loves launching relevant technology, shepherding sales-driven organizations and cultivating teams to spark serious revenue. It's been rumored that he's addicted to Diet Mountain Dew, whiteboards and a cool story. He's often found hanging out with the maniacally-driven sales and creative folks around our studios. Unfortunately, he also suffers from incurable sales ADD and is known to break out in hives upon any launch of a dry PowerPoint

He's gained some street cred as an amped-up sales leader and innovative entrepreneur in roles at various technology companies. Corey brings to StormWind over 17 years experience serving as either an early stage or founding member of leadership teams which have played a big part in shaping several different industries. From his early days as a Director of Sales at Mastering Computers (NASDAQ: MAST, acquired by Computer Associates) with Tom Graunke to then VP of Sales at KnowledgeNet (acquired by Thompson Reuters NYSE: TRI), he has enjoyed being in on the ground floor, establishing the foundation, securing funding, then rocketing the sales of other such innovative and technology leading companies like The 41st Parameter (funded by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Norwest Venture Partners, www.the41.com) and Amadesa (funded by Carmel Ventures, www.amadesa.com).

At StormWind, Corey is responsible for all sales and marketing functions including corporate branding, press relations, interactive media, demand generation, and sales enablement (not sure what that last one means, but it's on the other bios of sales executives so it must be important). He's on fire about the StormWind team being the best "professional storytellers" in the business, providing ridiculously good, surprisingly affordable and optimally efficient communication, training and best practices - simply doing what they do best. That means challenging clients to think well above and beyond the mind-numbingly boring, old 20th century page-turning e-Learning training content that still haunts this earth (how's that for subtle?)

He's a graduate of Marquette University, a very blessed husband and father of seven, and a rabid Green Bay Packers fan.
